Celebrate diversity, connection, and community this International Migrants Day!

Each year, International Migrants Day is a time to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contributions migrants make to communities all over the world. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the shared experiences of moving to a new place and the strength that comes from embracing cultural diversity.

To honour this special day and all of those who have migrated to Queenstown, we are excited to invite you to our International Migrants Day Potluck & Gathering, a festive evening designed to bring people from all backgrounds together to share food, stories, and meaningful connections. Whether you’re new to New Zealand or have been here for years, this event is about celebrating the multicultural spirit that makes Queenstown such a vibrant place to live.

With a delicious potluck dinner, fun activities for tamariki and rangatahi (children & youth), and a helpful talk from Shyla of ASB about banking basics, this festive gathering promises to be a memorable evening of learning, sharing, and connection for our international community.

Bring along a dish to share if you are able, and let’s celebrate the delicious diversity of foods that represent our many cultural backgrounds. From traditional family recipes to personal favourites, we’re excited to taste and experience the richness of our collective heritage. If you’re unable to bring a dish, that’s okay—your presence is the most important part!

Come along with your family, friends, and community members—this is an event for all!
